Literacy is a fundamental learning in today’s society, since new technologies (social networks, websites…), media (newspapers and magazines, both in physical and digital format) and culture (literary, scientific texts, etc.) mainly use written language for communication and dissemination of information.

In academic environments, literacy takes on an even more relevant role, since as the student progresses through the course, the dependence on written texts is increasingly greater, to the point that, at certain educational levels such as secondary education or university, practically 100% of learning situations involve some type of written text (textbooks, manuals, notes, slides…). For this reason, one of the main objectives during the first years of schooling is to learn to read and write quickly and efficiently, since adequate competence in this area will allow the use of written language as a vehicle for learning other subjects
