From Nam to 'former' NAM
In ‘split systems’ like in Belgium, NAM-students in secondary education follow one year ‘NAM-class’, which is orientated towards language acquisition. After that year they move on to the ‘regular’ secondary education system.
In this document, compiled by the Ghent Follow-up Team, a cross-network collaboration between NAM schools from Ghent and the surrounding region, coordinated by the Ghent Education Centre, the schools in Ghent give some tips on working with former NAMs.
In this presentation “New to the game” Laura Emery shows the results and findings of her PhD on the subject: “A system analysis of the orientation process of newly arrived migrant students in Flemish secundary education”.
