Differentiation in the classroom

This output is aimed at developing an open access online tool providing didactical manuals and materials for teachers working with newly arrived migrant children in their classroom. These manuals and materials will allow teachers to differentiate within the classroom according to the needs and competences of the pupils taking into account the heterogeneous characteristics of the groups. A module will be developed for teachers working in primary education and in secondary education. Teachers will be stimulated, coached and supported to use this module and reflect upon their own didactic practices. The developing process allows for an exchange of good practices and expertise between teachers working with newcomers across schools in the partner cities of Ghent, Helsinki and Rotterdam. A final goal of this module is to stimulate the emergence of a professional network between teachers working in the three cities.
